Body & Soul: new international ceramics

Organized and sponsored by CAC and curated by Wendy Tarlow Kaplan, Martin S. Kaplan, Laurent de Verneuil, at the Museum of Arts & Design, September 2013 to March 2014. CAC expresses special appreciation to David Revere McFadden, chief curator, Museum of Arts & Design, for his encouragement and guidance in connection with both this exhibition and From the Kilns of Denmark; to Laurent de Verneuil for his introduction to many ceramic artists, and his extensive participation in the curating process; and to Dia Felix, of Dia Felix Media, for her outstanding work in creating the video available on this website.

From The Kilns of Denmark: Contemporary Danish Ceramics

Organized by Wendy Tarlow Kaplan and Martin S. Kaplan and curated by Wendy Tarlow Kaplan and Hope Barkan in association with The Danish Museum of Decorative Art, Copenhagen, and The Fitchburg Art Museum, Massachusetts. The exhibition opened in New York, at the American Craft Museum (now Museum of Arts and Design), and traveled to Fitchburg, San Diego, Sacramento, Racine, Paris and Berlin between 2002 and 2004.

 

Tiger by the Tail! Women Artists of India Transforming Cultures

Organized and sponsored by Wendy Tarlow Kaplan, Martin S Kaplan, and the Women's Studies Research Center, Brandeis University. The exhibition opened at Brandeis University in 2007 and also traveled to the Rutgers University museum between October 2007 and July 2008. Seven of the seventeen artists were later included in a major exhibition at the Centre de Pompidou, Paris.

The Perfect Fit: Shoes Tell Stories

A traveling exhibition organized by the Fuller Craft Museum, Brocton, Massachusetts and curated by Wendy Tarlow Kaplan, reflecting the imaginative use of shoes in art, and organized in recognition of the historic role of Brockton in the American shoe industry, with which Wendy's family was connected in Brockton from early in the 20th century. This exhibition took place between 2009 and 2011.
